Document Description
The City of San Juan Bautista is proposing to upgrade critical portions of its existing infrastructure, which do not meet regulatory requirements and current industry standards. The main improvements would be for the City's domestic water system. The key water supply facilities the City is proposing to construct include a membrane water treatment plant (WTP), a new water storage tank, and upgrades to the City's distribution system piping. The City is proposing to treat water from the San Felipe Distribution System (SFDS), which is administered by the San Benito County Water District (SBCWD); the proposed project would improve water quality to meet DHS standards, meet standards for fire protection, bring the distribution system up to industry standards, reduce the reliance upon water softeners, and produce a treated wastewater more suitable for reclaiming. The remaining proposed infrastructure improvements include upgrading the existing storm drainage system and replacing the existing sewer main along Fourth Street, Tahualami Street, and Third Street to the wastewater treatment plant to reduce storm water infiltration and inflow.
