Document Description
The California Department of Parks and Recreation (Department) is preparing the Crystal Cove Historic District Preservation and Public Use Plan (plan). This plan may require a General Plan Amendment to the Crystal Cove State Park General Plan. The plan will propose a range of uses for the Historic District and adjoining areas that include long-term goals and guidelines for the appropriate types, locations, and designs of facilities that may be proposed in the future as well as specific proposals that will be implemented with current or near-term funding. The proposed uses include park operations (visitor center, kiosk, restrooms, offices, maintenance, staff housing), overnight accommodations, utility upgrades, and educational or interpretive facilities. These uses will be in conformance with the Department's policies for adaptive use in a Historic District. The plan will also establish interpretive programs and activities proposed or approved by the Department.
