Document Description
The Air Force proposes to conduct a non-time critical stormwater erosion mitigation project at Site 20 in order to contain potential risks and hazards to human health and the enviornment. This action is based on the Air Force's preliminary evaluation of the potential for release of hazardous substances as a result of stormwater erosion at Site 20 (Areas 2 and 3). The proposed stormwater erosion mitigation project at Site 20 includes the installation of a series of energy dissipaters built of gabions (wire baskets that contain coarse aggregate) in the Primary Ravine, V-ditch cut parallel to the top edge of the Primary Ravine, and a stormwater diversion piping system from Discharge point 2 to the Primary Ravine at the site. Final remedial actions for the Areas 2 and 3 will be addressed in the final remedy for Site 20 to be performed at a later date.
