The proposed action involves the addition of approximately 1,400 acres to the 550-acre Redevelopment Project No. 5-1986, which was originally adopted in 1986. The Amendment Area is located in the unincorporated community of Romoland, on both sides of Highway 74 east of US-215. Although no development or construction is proposed at this time, implementation of the Plan Amendment is expected to facilitate reinvestment in properties in the Amendment Area, to address various environmental issues, and to eliminate conditions of physical and economic blight that hinder the improvement of the Amendment Area.
