Document Description
The proposed project is for vehicle storage and weekly vehicle auctions on a 38-acre parcel in the East Otay Mesa Specific Plan. Operations are primarily that of an insurance auto auction facility and storage yard. East Otay Auto Storage is contracted by Insurance Auto Auctions (IAA) to manage the inventory of vehicles for insurance company clients by collecting, evaluating, and storing the vehicles for the period of time that it takes to settle the claim and process the necessary paperwork. At the conclusion of the claims process, the vehicles are sold via auction. The use of proposed to be temporary, for a period of five years. The project will comply with the requirements of the East Otay Mesa Specific Plan and the Design Guidelines.
