Open, unlined irrigation canal penetrates the runway protection zone (RPZ) approximately 600' from the end of R/W 30. Canal is approximately 30' wide, 15' deep. Would greatly exacerbate mishap if aircraft lands short of R/W 30 or overruns R/W 12.
