Document Description
The project comprises seven grouted rock check dams along Strawberry Greek in the University of California at Berkeley that are subject to erosion. The purpose of the project is to reduce and stabilize the channel gradient through the design of pool-riffle sequences and use the stream power to hold the constructed drop structures in place. Weirs will be placed in a series of closely spaced rows, with an average resulting slope of 2%. Secondary objectives include repair of erosion along stream banks and improvement of the overall aesthetic appearance of the various sites. Issuance of a Streambed Alteration Agreement Number R3-2001-0542 pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1601.
