Document Description
Caltrans proposes to extend the current culvert inlet, cover it with fill, create a detention basin on the fill, and continue adding material to the site as it becomes available. The 1992 Fountain Fire removed vegetation from all areas surrounding the project site. The loss of vegetation has made the slopes highly erodible. There is also material from highway storm water runoff that flows directly to the culvert inlet from the northwest side. This project will reduce sediment flow into the creek from roadside runoff; stabilize adjacent slopes; and create an area for disposing of road slide and excess maintenance meterials.
