Document Description
Commonwealth Energy Corporation proposes to develop and implement a geographically focused renewable energy research, development, and demonstration program with an ultimate emphasis of improving the affordability of these electric generation resources. The overall goals of the proposed Commonwealth Biogas/PV Micro-Grid Renewable Resource Program include 1) the development and implementation of an approach for tailoring resource development to the specific needs and resources of local areas, or mini-grids; 2) to improve the affordability of renewable energy produced from landfill, wastewater and ag-waste digester gas and photovoltaics; 3) to demonstrate the potential for the use of advanced gasification processes to reduce the cost of residual or sludge disposal; 4) to demonstrate and update the application of a performance evaluation rating system for building integrated systems; and to improve the transfer of this information on system and module performance to consumers and the supply channel stakeholders; and to demonstrate the potential for demonstration applications that add substantial value to building integrated PV technology, and simultaneously take advantage of economies of scale by installing larger PV systems under various targeted arrangements.
