Document Description
The Stanislaus Union School District proposes to construct a new K-6 elementary school on an approximately ten-acre parcel within the northwest part of the City of Modesto. The site is part of the Pelandale-Snyder Specific Plan Area. The site was identified as a school site within the Specific Plan Area. The proposed project would provide educational facilities for about 600 students and a staff of 30 to 35. The elementary school is intended to accommodate projected student growth resulting from the development of residences within the Specific Plan Area. The facilities would consist of classroom buildings, kindergarten classrooms, a multi-purpose building, administrative building, and a library/computer lab. The structures would comprise approximately 46,294 square feet. Athletic facilities would include playfields and hard courts. Two parking lots for 92 vehicles would be constructed with access from driveways on Warm Springs Drive. A pick-up/drop-off area would be provided within the main parking lot. A bus loading area would be installed in the second lot. Parking would be available to the community during non-school hours, including users of the McKinney Colony Park.
