Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes a major maintenance project on Route 162 in Mendocino County. Work would consist of replacing asphalt concrete (AC) surfacing, adding 30mm AC overlay, dig-outs, placing shoulder backing, and applying traffic striping. Shoulder backing would be placed 0.9 meter on each side of the existing AC. This would require removal of any vegetation within 0.9 meter of the edge of the pavement. All work would be within the existing right-of-way.

This project does not damage a scenic resource within an officially designated state scenic highway. This project is not loacted on a site included on any list compiled pursuant to Government Code Section 65962.5 ("Cortese List"). This project does not cause a substantial adverse change in the significance of a historical resource.
