The purpose of the shutdown is to allow DWR to install and remove two bulk-heads, upstream and downstream of the Box Springs Feeder turnout, along the Santa Ana Valley Pipeline. In each instance, eight acre-feet of water will be discharged by gravity flow into a natural streambed and then into percolation ponds at Canyon Crest Country Club.
