Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption

Sec. 15303 (e)
Reasons for Exemption
The State CEQA Guidelines, Section 15303 (e), provides that a project may be considered exempt from CEQA if that project consists of limited construction of new small facilities, including but not limited to, water main, sewage, and other utility extensions. The George Allen Field Irrigation Renovation Project meets this criteria. The project would involve the relocation of valves trenching. Construction activities would be of minimum scope and duration. Archaeological monitoring would prevent the destruction of cultural resources, in the unlikely event that they should be uncovered. Project construction and operation would not have a significant effect on the environment.
