Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Game is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the Project applicant, California Army National Guard. The applicant proposes removing an abandoned wooden bridge deck, abandoned sewer line, and two (2) concrete bridge footing from the Chorro Creek channel. The sewer pipe would be capped at each end and the bridge deck sawn into smaller sections. A crane would be used to remove the sections of bridge deck and sewer pipe. The stream would be diverted using sandbags and two (2) concrete footing would be removed from the channel by cutting the footing approximately 6-inches above the stream bed and lifting the cut sections out of the channel. One (1) mature willow, one (1) mature sycamore, and several poison oak bushes would be trimmed to allow worker and equipment access to the site. All material would be removed and disposed of off-site. Equipment used will include a crane, hand tools (drills, cutting equipment), and haul trucks.
