Document Description
The approved project is to drill three replacement gas storage wells and rework three wells. The new wells are part of the routine replacement of the lost deliverability incurred due to previous plug and abandonment work at the Wild Goose Storage Field. Drilling the replacement wells is expected to take 75 days to complete. Activity for the reworks involves hydrostatically controlling each well, pulling the tubing, and performing a casing inspection and pressure test. Each well will be reconfigured by installing a tubing on packer assembly, followed by an annular pressure test. After the reworks are completed, the wells will return to service. The replacement wells and the reworks will ensure compliance with CalGEM’s revised regulations (14 CCR § 1726 et seq.) to enhance the safety of UGS projects. The project activity being permitted by the Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM) is within the scope of the Wild Goose Storage, Inc. Expansion Project environmental impact report. CalGEM, as the CEQA Responsible Agency, approved permit(s)for Wild Goose Storage, LLC to drill and rework the wells listed below, in the Wild Goose Gas Field in Butte County.
