Document Description
The LAUSD proposes to construct the new school to accommodate approximately 888 students (average daily capacity). The 3.15 acre site currently has nine single-family residential units, 23 multi-family residential units, 1 duplex, 7 parking lots on contiguous parcels, 2 light industrial properties, and 1 vacant parcel. As part of the proposed project, existing residential and industrial uses would be relocated. LAUSD proposes to construct a multi-story facility, which will provide 19 general classrooms, 3 special education classrooms, 3 kindergarten classrooms, 1 set aside classroom, lunchroom, kitchen, library, and administrative office, totaling 51,330 square feet. Surface parking would be provided for 59 vehicles. A total of 1.9 acres are dedicated to a play area. School hours will typically be 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, on a year-round basis. Evening meetings and school activities will occur in the evening hours.
