Document Description
The proposed project entails the demolition of a residence/office building located on the Dobbins Forest Fire Station compound. The 25' by 40' building was originally constructed by the CCC in 1935 as barracks, was remodeled circa 1966 into a "captains residence", and in the late 1980s converted into office space for the local battalion chief and forester. The building is no longer used for any other purpose and is in disrepair. It contains dry rot and insects, the basement fills with water each winter and the heating and air conditioning equipment needs to be replaced.
