Document Description
The proposed project will involve the drilling of one ten-inch diameter, 200 foot deep monitoring well. The well will be drilled using a large truck-mounted rotary drilling rig equipped with a mud pump. Drilling will begin in either late November or December during daylight hours only. Drilling and reaming of the well will increase noise levels for approximately four hours. All drilling and well development will be accomplished during a two to three day period. Additional support vehicles, including a water tender, front end loader, pipe truck and pickup trucks will be parked on-site. The drilling rig and associated equipment will occupy an area of approximately 100 feet by 50 feet. Access for these vehicles will be directly off the adjacent gravel roads. No improvements for site access will be required. With landowner's permission, all drill wastes (rock cuttings and inert bentonite clay) produced during drilling will be covered over and left on-site upon well completion. The surface completion will consist of a 24-inch diameter standpipe structure placed on a three foot square concrete pad and protected with four steel crash posts.
