Document Description
The proposed Rawhide Mine is a placer mining operation proposed in the headwaters of Horse Valley Creek, Tahoe National Forest. One-thousand cubic yards, or less, of material (mining gravels) will be moved within the project area which measures approximately 450-linear feet x 30-feet wide (less than one acre). Incremental diversion of Horse Valley Creek and removal of riparian vegetation will be required during the three year span of the project. The applicant will be responsible for restoration of the disturbed stream channel and native riparian vegetation, as well as project implementation, in compliance with the U.S. Forest Service Conditions of Approval for Amended Plan of Operation and a Department of Fish and Game Streambed Alteration Agreement.
