The 8.2 acre parcel is developed with an existing meat packing facility near the front of the parcel. The rear portion of the parcel has gulch and riparian issues. The parcel has three different zones/land use designations. The designation of the portion of the parcel where the tower is proposed is Residential Low Density (RL). Eureka Community plan (ECP). Density: 1-6 units per acre. Note: Development is outside the Coastal Zone (although a portion of the parcel is within the CZ). Residential Single Family with Greenway/Open Space combining zone (R-1/GO).
Document Description
The development of a wireless communication facility consisting of a 150 foot steel monopole painted gray and a 220 square foot concrete equipment shelter on a 4,900 square foot lease parcel. In addition, a 6 foot chainlink security fence will be constructed around the immediate site. The top of the pole will be developed with a set of 9 directional antenna panels (each 8" wide x 10' long x 2" thick) and a 6' diameter microwave dish at 100' elevation facing the northeast. A generator and propane tank will be installed within the fenced area for back-up energy generation. The FAA requires that a pole of this height be lighted with a blinking light at the top (the light will blink white during the day and red at night). The 8.2 acre parcel owned by the Redwood Meat Co. is partially in the coastal zone, but all proposed developement will occur in the inland and most easterly portion which is zoned Residential Single Family (R-1) with a Greenway/Open Space combining zone.
