Current General Plan is A-T, Agricultural-Transition (5 acre density) and zoning is "R1A," Single Family Residential & Agricultural District. The property was previously mined for aggregate by a former operator and grazed. The aggregate processing plant continues to operate under its own Use Permit and the remainder of the property is used for grazing. The western edge of the property is planted annually with Sudan grass which is harvested and then grazed. The remainder of the property is dry land pasture.
Document Description
Proposed Use Permit and Reclamation Plan with a Stream Alteration Agreement to allow the recommencement of surface mining of sand, gravel, and silt with incidental extraction of bedded clay, slate and gold-bearing aggregate from tailings left during gold mining and recovery operations conducted in the mid 1880's to the early 1900's. Reclamation consists of restoring the dry creek bed to reduce stream bank erosion and re-grading and re-vegetating the areas to be returned to grazing.
