Document Description
Zone 7 Water Agency (Zone 7) proposes to improve sludge handling facilities at its existing Del Valle Water Treatment Plant (DVWTP). Zone 7 proposes to improve the residuals processing operations by installing a conventional gravity thickener and a water management basin (equipped with an equalization basin) at the south-central portion of the plant, adjacent to the existing sludge drying beds. These facilities would alleviate the overloading of the drying beds and recovery ponds, improve the solids handling/dewatering performance, and thereby improve overall treatment plant performance. Connection pipelines would also be installed from the gravity thickener and the MWB to existing facilities.
