Document Description
The City of Carson has two existing redevelopment projects: Project Area No. 1 and the Carson Merged and Amended Project Area. Project Area No. 1 was adopted in 1971, and the Carson Merged and Amended Project Area, which consists of Project Area No. 2 (adopted in 1974) and Project Area No. 3 (adopted in 1984), was merged in 1996. To address the conditions outside the Existing Project Areas, the Carson City Council designated a Survey Area for a new redevelopment project area (Project Area No. 4). The Proposed Project Area No. 4 includes 1,232 acres in 12 noncontiguous parcels throughout the City. In addition, various limits in the Redevelopment Plans for the Existing Project Areas are about to be met and must be extended in order to facilitate achievement of Carson Redevelopment Agency's (CRA's) redevelopment goals. Therefore, the CRA is also proposing to amend the Redevelopment Plans for the Existing Project Areas to extend various limits. Finally, the CRA is proposing to merge proposed Project Area No. 4 with the Existing Project Areas to create a single administrative and financial unit. Each individual Project Area would then become a "component area" of the newly merged project.
