Document Description
The proposed non-potable water distribution system consists of the construction of five reservoirs, four pump stations and associated pipelines. Four of the five reservoirs will have the capacity to store two million gallons each and the fifth will accommodate 1.6 million gallons. The reservoirs and pump stations will be located on vacant lands or within existing development. To distribute the non-potable water, pipeline ranging from 12-to 24-inch in diameter will be installed throughout the proposed distribution area primarily within existing roadways. The main source for the non-potable water will be imported untreated water and to a lesser degree, groundwater pumped from the Yucaipa Groundwater Basin. This MND addresses the construction of two of the five reservoirs, two of the five reservoirs, two of four pump stations and associated 39,120 linear feet of pipelines. However, the future operations and maintenance of the entire distribution system, comprised of five reservoirs, four pump stations and associated pipelines, is analyzed as part of this document. Construction of the non-potable water system covered in this MND would take approximately 12 to 16 months to complete and is expected to begin in 2002.
