Document Description
The oxygenation system would require construction of a liquid oxygen storage facility adjacent to the public parking area northwest of the dam. The facility would consist of the following components: two 9,000 gallon liquid oxygen storage tanks; vaporizers to convert the liquid oxygen to a gaseous state; a two- to six-inch diameter delivery pipeline to transfer the gaseous oxygen from the storage facility to the reservoir; and a submerged pipe diffuser system to inject the gaseous oxygen into the hypolimnion of the reservoir. The oxygenation delivery system would have a maximum oxygen delivery capacity of 39,700 pounds per day. The tank and vaporizers would require a 20-foot by 8-foot reinforced concrete pad and chain link fence with bollard protection. The two- to six-inch diameter gaseous oxygen delivery pipeline would be placed approximately 18 to 30 inches below the ground surface, primarily under an existing paved access road. A small portion of the pipeline (approximately 50 feet) would be outside the road in a disturbed area. The pipeline would connect to a pipe diffuser system that would extend into the lake and then be submerged. Adjacent to the lake, at the end of the paved access road, a six by six square foot vault would house the shutoff valve for the pipeline. The vault would be a flat surface at ground level similar to an existing vault nearby.
