Document Description
The proposed project entails the construction of an academic/administrative complex located on a 1.7 acre site at the corner of Northpoint Driveway and Northpoint Lane in the northwest UCSD campus, and the relocation of the discus/hammer throwing field that currently occupies the site. The field would be relocated approximately 200 feet to the northeast, displacing an existing cul-de-sac and approximately 23 parking spaces on Northpoint Lane. The academic/administrative complex consists of up to 28,000 gross square feet (gsf) of temporary building space to accommodate University staff, researchers, faculty and others who are awaiting completion of permanent facilities. This building space would be accommodated in one-story trailers, painted and skirted in accordance with campus policy. Landscape enhancements at the site perimeter are part of the project. The relocation of the existing throwing field would require removal/relocation of the existing cul-de-sac to the south and relocation of the existing bike path to the east of the proposed project.
