Document Description
Pursuant to the Selma-Kingsburg-Fowler County Sanitation District Local Guidelines Implementing the California Environmental Quality Act and the County of Fresno Regulations and Procedures for the Implementation of the California Environmental Quality Act, it is hereby determined that the acquisition of 19.0 acres of agricultural land (APN 393-330-11), located 2 miles west of the City of Kingsburg and west of the treatment plant facilities for the purposes of creating an environmental buffer surrounding the facilities, expanding the facilities and/or utilizing alternative methods of wastewater treatment and disposal, is categorically exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act.

Reasons for Exemption
Existing wastewater plants are specifically cited as being exempt in Article IV, Section 4.6 (A0(7) of the local and county guidelines. The existing wastewater treatment facilities will undergo only negligible expansion of use beyond that which is existing. The acquisitionof land is an expected activity of the District for which there is a past history. There are no unusual circumstances regarding the land acquisition. There is no significant impact on the environment. The initial plan for use of land is for it to remain in its existing state of agricultural use. There are no significant cumulative impacts of successive projects of the same type in the same place. The parcel is exempt per Califonria Code of Regulation 15301.
