Document Description
Emergency cleaning of approximately four miles of 8-inch to 21-inch diameter vitrified clay sewer pipeline. All work will use existing access where possible; but new construction work (grading of temporary access and creek crossings) will be needed to access MH Nos. 3, 4, 10, 11, 50-53, 182, 183, 192 and 230. All work will be monitored by a biologist and coordinated with City Park and Recreation Department and the resource agencies.

This 35 year old trunk sewer line has not been accessed for cleaning and maintenance for many years. In addition, recent inspection has shown: 1) that there is significant amounts of debris and sludge in the line which has reduced its hydraulic capacity; 2) there are cracks in the pipe; 3) there is deterioration of the concrete in the manholes; 4) and there is lack of access to MH Nos. 3, 4, 10, 11, 50-53, 182, 183, 192, 193, and 230 .
