Document Description
The City of Pismo Beach plans to use Community Development Block Grant funds to install handicapped ramps in the public sidewalk at 24 street intersections and replace an existing 4" waterline that provides inadequate fire flow. Along with the waterline replacement, San Luis Avenue will be re-paved from Dolliver Street to Price Street. The project will improve handicapped access, public safety, the fire flow of an inadequate waterline, and meet the Federal American With Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. Improvements will be located entirely within the public right-of-way, and the sidewalks and streets involved are conventional, residential, commercial and collector streets, which have been improved to current State and Local standards. The physical changes are minor, involving mainly replacing a small section of sidewalk, curb and gutter with a ramp to provide access to handicapped persons and minor physical changes to replace an existing 4" waterline. In addition, the State Department of Historic Preservation has reviewed the results of the archaeological record search and determined that a professionally qualified archaeologist shall monitor the construction phase of the waterline replacement.
