Document Description
The water diversion at the Jackson Demonstration State Forest, more notably, the subject's concrete sill, has proven to be, under low flow conditions, a barrier to migrating adult coho salmon. It should also be considered a passage issue for juvenile salmonids. Up to ten miles of stream course were not utilized by coho salmon because of this impediment. The Department will modify the sill by building a concrete weir type of structure on the downstream side of the sill which will result in a single pool fish ladder. The weir will be constructed with concrete and rebar. A low flow notch will be placed mid-channel to concentrate flow and facilitate passage.
