Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to construct a 298 m2 sand storage building at the southeast corner of the intersection of State Route 299 and Titlow Hill Road in Humboldt County. The project location is approximately 15.7 kilometers west of Willow Creek, and approximately 46.8 kilometers east of Arcata. Construction of the new sand storage building would include an asphalt concrete access road from Titlow Hill Road, culvert installation, site grading and paving, perimeter fencing, extension of utilities, drainage improvements, including sand traps, and landscaping. The purpose of the project is to provide a new sand storage facility due to deficiencies of the current facility located at KP 54.8.

There will be a significant cumulative effect by this project and successive projects of the same type in the same place, over time. There is not a reasonable possibiltiy that the project will have a significant effect on the environment due to unusual circumstances. This project does not damage a scenic resource within an officially designated state scenic highway. This project is located on a site included on any list complied pursuant to Govt. Code 65962.5 ("Cortese List"). This project does not cause a substantial adverse change in the significance of a histrorical resource.
