Project funds will support Santa Barbara County's production of an integrated master planning document for the 993-acre Devereux Slough-Ellwood Mesa area. The county will produce the plan cooperatively with U.C. Santa Barbara and the Santa Barbara Development Partnership, and will consult with staff from Coal Oil Point Reserve, the CA Coastal Commission , and other agencies and nonprofit organizations.

Reasons for Exemption
Section 15262 of 14 CA Code of Regulations exempts projects that involve only feasibility or planning studies for possible future actions which the Coservancy has not approved, adopted or funde. Because the project involves the preparation of plans only, it is exempt under this section. It is also exempt under Section 15306, in that it involves basic data collection, research and resource evaluation activities that will not result in any disturbance to an environmental resource, and which will be undertaken as part of a study leading to an action which the Conservancy has not yet approved, adopted of funded.
