The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and its local partner the Santa Clara Valley Water District are proposing to construct the Upper Berryessa Creek Flood Risk Management Project. The project would modify 2.2 miles of Upper Berryessa Creek within the cities of Milpitas and San Jose for the purpose of reducing flood risks. These modifications would occur between I-680 and Calaveras Boulevard, and would include: - Constructing an enlarged earthen trapezoidal channel; - Constructing concrete floodwalls at two areas; - Excavating sediment and vegetation from the channel bed;
