Document Description
Los Angeles Unified School District is proposing to construct a new high school (grades 9 through 12) in East Los Angeles. The proposed school would help alleviate overcrowding in District H, specifically within Garfield and Roosevelt High Schools, and would allow many students to attend school in their own neighborhood. The proposed high school would be designed to provide 1,400 two-semester seats to accommodate a total enrollment of 1,949 students on a year-round schedule. The proposed school would provide 59 classrooms, an auditorium, library, food service, administration and other support services within an area of approximately 164,800 square feet. Demolition of the existing two-story Housing Authority facility and existing service and parking facilities would be part of the proposed project.
