Document Description
The City of Lodi proposes to construct and operate a nominal net 47 megawatt (MW) "simple-cycle" power plant, referred to as Lodi Energy Center (LEC). The plant will be constructed on property owned by the City of Lodi located at 1215 East Thurman Street, east of State Highway 99. The parcel (Assessor's Parcel number 049-070-75) is approximately 8.1 acres and the plant will occupy a two-acre portion of the parcel. The property is located in an industrial zoned portion of the City of Lodi, east of State Highway 99. The City of Lodi will own and operate the power plant. It is anticipated that the plant will operate an average sixteen hours perday and an average six days per week. A 5.6-mile, high-pressure, natural gas pipeline will be constructed from the plant site to the existing Lodi Gas Storage facility located in San Joaquin County. Electrical transmission facilities will connect directly to the Fred M. Reid electrical substation, which is located on the same City-owned parcel as the proposed power plant facility. Construction is planned for mid-2002 and commercial operations are scheduled to begin in late 2002.
