Document Description
The Department of Toxic Substances Control, in accordance with the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA; Public Resources Code (PRC) Section 25000 et seq.) and implementing Guidelines (Guidelines, California Code of Regulations (CCR), Title 14, Division 6, Chapter 3, section 15000 et. seq.), has prepared a Draft Initial Study and Mitigated Negative Declaration for the proposed remedial actions at the Chico Municipal Airport (former Victor Industries Corporation site). The Draft Remedial Action Plan (RAP) for this project was prepared in accordance with the requirements of the California Health and Safety Code Section 25356.1 (h). The remedial activities proposed to be conducted by the City of Chico include the following actions: The construction, installation and operation of six groundwater monitoring wells, an extraction well, a treatment system, power supply, conveyance piping and minimal vehicle access route improvements. Contaminated groundwater will be remediated to levels which meet the requirements of the State Water Resources Control Board's Resolution 92-49 (i.e., background or non-detect).
