40 Acre Minimum uses
Lands adjacent to the landfill are situated within the AG-1, AG-2, AG-2-B40, and M-H Heavy Industrial Zoning Districts.
The purpose of the Yreka Landfill project is to more precisely define the landfill's operation to allow it to serve the residents of Siskiyou County and its incorporated cities into the future. The project is designed to ensure that there is adequate and accurate definition of the landfill and its operation, including the addition of 0.5 acres adjacent to Cell 2-3, ensure that the landfill and its operation is in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, and ensure that there are adequate provisions to reasonably modify the landfill and its operations to satisfy evolving regulations and community needs.
