The Landfill stopped receiving waste in 1997. Since that time, activity has been limited to site monitoring and maintenance. The City of San Marcos has assigned a "Solid Waste Management Area" (SWM) General Plan and Zoning Designation to the project site. The proposed project is consistent with the General Plan and zoning designation.
Document Description
Implementing the Final Closure and Post-Closure Masintenane Plans for the San Marcos Landfill using a monolithic soil cover system or other similar system as required by regulatory authorities. The soil cover will range in depth from five (5) feet to eight (8) feet, and require the importation of approximately 420,000 cubic yards of soil over an approximate 7-month period.
