Document Description
The County Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County own and operate five water reclamation plants (WRPs) that discharge all or a portion of their effluent to the San Gabriel River, the Rio Hondo, and/or their tributaries, including San Jose and Coyote Creeks. Each of these plants currently treats influent wastewater to a tertiary level consisting of primary sedimentation, conventional activated sludge aeratopm and secondary sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection with either chlorine or hypochlorite followed by dechlorination with either sulfur dioxide or sodium bisulfite.
