Document Description
The LAUSD proposes to construct the new school to accommodate approximately 958 students (average daily capacity). The Belmont New Elementary School No. 6 is to be constructed with 4 kindergarten classrooms, 29 general purpose classrooms, 5 special day classrooms, 1 set aside classroom, an administration/multi-purpose building and a food service building with a lunch shelter, totaling approximately 69,513 square feet. A 2-acre playground will comprise the remainder of the site. Presently there is an alley that bisects the site in a north/south manner, which is to be vacated as it traverses the project site. School hours will typically be from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, on a year round basis. Evening meetings and school activities will occur in the evening hours.
