Calabasas Landfill Gas Well Rehabilitation Project

SCH Number
Lead Agency
Los Angeles County Sanitation District
Document Title
Calabasas Landfill Gas Well Rehabilitation Project
Document Type
NEG - Negative Declaration
Document Description
The proposed project would rehabilitate four poorly performing existing gas wells that have been adversely affected by the plugging of the slotted portion of the well casing, reducing their effectiveness in collecting landfill gas. The impacted wells require redrilling and reconstruction in order to continue to provide for the effective control of landfill gas migration. An additional 50 wells may be added in the future using the same technique, depending on the performance of the initial four wells.
