Document Description
The Project's objectives are as follows: (1) amend the existing Specific Plan boundaries to reflect the University's current landholdings; (2) establish appropriate development regulations and standards for a new land use area that would implement development of University facilities and related uses, including the proposed School of Film and Television facilities and associated uses; (3) define a historic preservation/enhancement process; (4) define a comprehensive signage program that would retain sensitivity to the Old Towne Historic District while providing for a University identity and wayfinding program; (5) incorporate the design guidelines and standards of the adopted Specific Plan, Old Towne Historic District, National Register of Historic Places, and Southwest Redevelopment Area into one set of stand-alone design guidelines; (6) remove the Specific Plan Area from the Southwest Redevelopment Area; (7) Identify future expansion areas for Chapman University; and (8) update and revise the Specific Plan to reflect Amendment No. 4 and No. 5, streamline the processing requirements, corrected exhibits, and make other changes as necessary.
