Document Description
The proposed project involves the construction of a 21.5 million gallon per day (15,000 gallons per minute) groundwater treatment plant on an approximately 1.2 acre site. The proposed project will treat groundwater extracted from the City's existing Palmyrita, Electric Street, Moore-Griffith, and Twin Springs Wells, by a Granula Activated Carbon (GAC) technique. The proposed treatment plant will consist of 15 treatment vessels measuring approximately 10 feet in diameter and 25 feet in height. In addition, a holding tank, measuring 16 feet in diameter and 16 feet in height, will be constructed on the site for transient storage of backwash water, along with a 400 gallons per minute (gpm) 15 HP pump. The plant will be sited and plumbed for future expansion of five additional treatment vessels.
