Document Description
The City of Thousand Oaks proposes to remove non-native plant species (Arundo donax, Tree Tobacco, Coaster Bean and Fan Palm) from a portion of the Arroyo Conejo located in Hill Canyon beginning 900 feet downstream of the Hill Canyon Wastewater Treatment Plantdrying beds and continuing for approximately 5500 feet. The removal of non-native plants is part of a Army Corp of Engineers mitigation requirement for stream impacts under the Unit W and Unit F Wastewater Interceptor Reconstruction Projects. The removal will be accomplished by hand crews (cutting and herbcide application), herbcide spray equipment (foliar spray), tractors (mechanical cutting), and medium duty trucks (removal of plant material). Twenty four acres of habitat will be treated overall including the removal of about 3 acres of Arundo donax.
