Document Description
Reconstruct 1938 water tank and tower at Railtown 1897 State Historic Park. Existing non-historic water tank and associated support tower will be demolished to allow reconstruction on historic concrete footings. New tank and tower will resemble historic structure as closely as possible, while conforming to current engineering and building code requirements. Altered hip-style roof, reminicent of earlier 1897 structure, will be used to reduce the need for chemical treatment of water in tank. Historic spout and flapper valve will be re-used in reconstruction. Water service pipe will be installed from existing valve box.
