Document Description
The objectives of the project are to restore functionality of the existing fish screen facility and allow continued operation of the M&T/Llano Seco Pumping Plant and City of Chico Wastewater Treatment Plant discharge diffusers on the Sacramento River. This will be accomplished by excavating a portion (8 acres) of a 20-acre gravel bar whose natural downstream movement threatens these facilities. The proposed excavation is a temporary solution. The gravel removed will be relocated to a spoils area on the M&T Chico Ranch and made available only for river and flood plain restoration activities.
