Document Description
The Remedial Action Plan calls for active air sparging and biosparging of petroleum contaminants and volatile organic compounds in soils and groundwater, weekly removal of separate phase gasoline and diesel, followed by natural attenuation of low levels of dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons and volatile organics. A deed restriction will be filed with the County Assessor's Office that will require removal of contaminated soils prior to site development activities. Future construction of development activity onsite will be limited so as to avoid any possible negative impacts on human health. A groundwater monitoring program will be imposed that will provide documentation of continuing remediation of the contaminant migration to Humboldt Bay does not occur. Investigations to determine the extent of contamination have documented that the contaminants are not reaching Humboldt Bay.
