Document Description
The Project consists of excavation and off-site disposal of impacted soil, installation of a vapor barrier and a soil vapor extraction system, as well as development of a Soil Monitoring Plan (SMP), a Dust Control Plan, and Soil Vapor Mitigation Plans. The Soil Monitoring Plan will direct how excavation due to construction activities will address hazardous materials including chloroform, tetrachloroethene (PCE), trichloroethene (TCE), 1,3 butadiene, and benzene. The Dust Control Plan includes the management of traffic associated with construction (trackout prevention, traffic control, and off-site transport. The Soil Vapor Mitigation Plans will describe installation a vapor mitigation system (VMS) which provides a preferential pathway for vapors that may be present in the vadose zone to be readily released to the atmosphere instead of migrating through the foundation slab and into indoor air. Activities to be conducted pursuant to the approved Response Plan include:
