Document Description
On September 19, 2016, the San Leandro City Council approved the San Leandro 2035 General Plan and Zoning Update 2016 ("Project"). The 2035 General Plan is the City's primary land use regulatory tool; it guides land development and conservation through the year 2035 and contains policies for locating and designing new development, improving the local economy, conserving resources, and improving public services and safety, among other things. The 2035 General Plan replaces the 2002 General Plan. The Project also includes Zoning Update 2016 amending Zoning Code Article 3, Definitions; Article 6; Commercial and Professional Districts; Article 7, Industrial Districts; Article 16, Development Regulations; Article 18 Signs; Article 25 Site Plan Review, and the Zoning Map for conformance with the 2035 General Plan, and General Text Updates. The project also includes text and map amendments to S-overlay Ordinance 2007-021 to remove "SP1-Downtown South Gateway," and "SP-8, BART/Westlake Properties Special Policies" from the special project areas. The City prepared an EIR for the above project.
