Document Description
AT&T is proposing a cable installation project to install buried fiber optic cable form the City of San Luis Obispo in San Luis Obispo County to the City of Los Angeles in Los Angeles County. The total length of the proposed route is approximately 243 miles. The project will be largely located within Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) right-of-way, with portions of the route also located within city, county and state road rights-of-way. Most of the cable (173.6 miles or 71 percent) will be installed in existing buried conduits, the majority of which have been recently installed or under installation by Level 3 Communications. Approximately 29 percent (or 69.4 miles), of the route will require the installation of new conduits to house the fiber optic cable system.
